Mission
Our mission is to work within the community to reduce alcohol
and other drug-related problems among Charleston-area college students.
Action steps
- Build partnerships to raise awareness and promote student safety
- Educate students and community partners on harm-reduction strategies
- Review and utilize research-based environmental strategies
- Provide attractive alternatives to students
Goals
1. Meet with Neighborhood Associations/City Council/Mayor to promote
collaborative efforts toward keg registration and mandatory server
training.
2. Gain a better understanding of alcohol laws in South Carolina.
3. Provide alcohol education information to local restaurants and bars.
4. Recruit community partners for active membership on coalition.
5. Create tavern agreements.
6. Produce Rock the Block, a large scale late-night event for area college
students.
7. Develop and maintain informational website.
